About PC® Auto insurance

If you own or drive a vehicle in Canada, you must be insured. There are six kinds of auto insurance. The first four are mandatory for every driver. The last two are optional, but highly recommended.

Mandatory

Liability

in case you cause an accident and someone sues you.

Accident benefits

in case you or someone in your vehicle is hurt in an accident.

Direct compensation damage

(Ontario only) - in case your vehicle is damaged and you're either not at fault or only partially at fault.

Uninsured motorist

in case you're in an accident with an uninsured or hit-and-run driver

Things to consider:

  • How's your driving record? The better it is, the less you'll pay.
  • Do your research. Some vehicle models are stolen more and will be more expensive to insure.
  • The less you drive, the less risk you are, the less you pay. What can you do to limit your driving?
  • Take a close look at your coverage to make sure you're not paying for things you don't need.
